Diablo 3 Expansion[edit | edit source]

The Diablo 3 community focus was however on the suspected and hoped for announcement of the Diablo 3 Expansion. Back at the end of July sources from inside Blizzard indicated to IncGamers the distinct possibility of such an announcement. [2] A splash screen intentionally published by Blizzard on 15th August 2013 on the official Diablo 3 website was the first mention of the name Reaper of Souls[3].

Prior to the start of Gamescom 2013 the German ratings board (USK), posted a notice that a trailer for Diablo 3 expansion had received a rating of 12. The rating is not an indication of the rating the expansion will receive, just the contents of the trailer, which is open to the public including youngsters so needs to be appropriate for younger audiences.

Blizzard held a conference for the media at 11:30 CET on Wednesday 21 August when they announced the development of the first Diablo 3 expansion Reaper of Souls.
