One constant throughout the Diablo series are the various treasure chests found throughout the land of Sanctuary. Chests must be clicked to open; they can not be destroyed by spells or physical attacks, and they contain untold quantities of loot; gold, items, potions, and more.
The term "chest" is also used metaphorically, to refer to actual chests, or as a general term for any sort of clickable object that may disgorge loot when opened or destroyed.
