Skill Design
This skill first appeared at 2010. There are currently no visuals available for the skill, and no reports on it from demo players. It was revealed in the skill tree. This is the second of two available healing spells to the Monk, the other being a direct-heal called Circle of Wrath. This is the first aura available to the Monk. Auras in Diablo II are passive skills that simply require being the chosen skill on the hotbar. Auras in Diablo III are active skills that need to be casted, and they offer a short-duration bonus upon casting that varies depending on the aura. It is unknown how long the duration of the aura is, if it needs to be re-casted to keep the effect, and if there are any cooldowns. It is also currently unknown if there is a base health regeneration rate, or if this aura is one of the ways to have a regeneration rate to begin with. The prior entries to the Diablo series did not offer health regeneration outside of item modifiers.
Synergies
* No The following synergiesMonk passives with any provide a benefit to Mantra of the passive Healing, runed or not:skill description header<skill class="Monk">Chant of Resonance</skills are yet known.>
Before the July 2011 Press Event, Holy Aura was renamed Mantra of Healing. Skill tiers were also removed, and Mantra of Healing became a level 14 skill.

Nerfed Post-Release
This skill was considerably overpowered upon release, and was nerfed in a patch a week after release. That "hotfix" lowered the bonus healing for 3 seconds after the cast from 4x to 2x. Boon of Protection was also nerfed and eventually replaced by Boon of Inspiration.

The main problem with this and some other Monk defensive effects was the possibility of a party of four Monks repeatedly casting them in a coordinated cycle. This could provide essentially infinite protection, as the 3 second bonuses after each casting, rotated between four monks, effectively negated the 12 second cooldowns built into the skill recasting timers.

Beta
When the beta started in September 2011, Mantra of Healing remained a level 14 skill. The skill system was once again overhauled for the Beta Patch 13 in February 2012, and Mantra of Healing was classified as a Conviction skill and moved to level 21. For Beta Patch 14, the "Conviction" category was renamed "Mantras" and Mantra of Healing was bumped up to level 26.
