Pen and Paper Role Playing Game or PnP RPG stands for RPGs that are not on a PC or console, but played with pen and paper on a table, floor or other suitable area.

Background[edit | edit source]

With roots in old tabletop games like Monopoly, games that primarily use pen and paper has really only been defined as such with the emergence of computer games, where pen and paper was obviously NOT a part of the game style.

Primarily, Pen and Paper Role Playing Games are being referred to when talking of PnP's.

Diablo[edit | edit source]

There are Diablo pen and paper RPGs made for Diablo II, and it's possible we'll see new rulesets for Diablo III.

Blizzard[edit | edit source]

Although PnP RPGs are not what Blizzard is dealing with at all, many Blizzard developers have played DnD and Blizzard made official statements of appreciation when Gary Gygax, the creator of DnD passed away. The original rule book for DnD has been sighted in Blizzard's library as well.
