Mantra of Healing (as Holy Aura) was first revealed at BlizzCon 2010 as a Tier 3 skill but had never been seen in gameplay.

Before the July 2011 Press Event, Holy Aura was renamed Mantra of Healing. Skill tiers were also removed, and Mantra of Healing became a level 14 skill.

Nerfed Post-Release[edit | edit source]

This skill was considerably overpowered upon release, and was nerfed in a patch a week after release.[2] That "hotfix" lowered the bonus healing for 3 seconds after the cast from 4x to 2x. Boon of Protection was also nerfed and eventually replaced by Boon of Inspiration.

The main problem with this and some other Monk defensive effects was the possibility of a party of four Monks repeatedly casting them in a coordinated cycle. This could provide essentially infinite protection, as the 3 second bonuses after each casting, rotated between four monks, effectively negated the 12 second cooldowns built into the skill recasting timers.
