"Deeds" refers to the famous Hardcore death message first used in Diablo 2 and returned in Diablo 3.

You have died. Your deeds of valor will be remembered.

Players enjoyed this message (through their tears) and soon enough "deeds" became a sort of shorthand reference to any Hardcore death. For instance, the Diablo.IncGamers.com Hardcore Graveyard forum has a permanent sticky thread called "Condolences: Discuss our Deeds"
