D3v2 refers to Diablo 3, version 2. This version of the game tested on the PTR for months before going live in late February 2014 with Patch 2.0.1. The developers consider it an almost relaunch of Diablo III with major changes to most skills, a whole new item system via Loot 2.0, the reworked account-wide Paragon 2.0 system, and more.
Most of D3v2's features are also present in Reaper of Souls, which also includes numerous additional features.
