Haunt

Haunt an enemy with a spirit, dealing 4000% weapon damage as Cold over 12 seconds. If the enemy dies, the spirit will haunt another nearby enemy.

An enemy can only be affected by one Haunt at a time.

Locust Swarm

Unleash a plague of locusts that swarms an enemy, dealing 1040% weapon damage as Poison over 8 seconds.

The locusts will jump to additional nearby enemies.

Summon a Fetish Shaman for 12 seconds that will hex groups of enemies into chickens. Hexed enemies are unable to perform offensive actions and take 15% additional damage.

Passive Skills[edit]

Passive skills replaced Traits during late game development in 2011. Many Traits were simply changed to passive skills, but some are all new. See the Witch Doctor traits page for a full list of those passives.

The range of this effect is increased by your gold pickup radius.

Jungle Fortitude

Spiritual Attunement

1 Maximum Mana is increased by 10%. Regenerate 2% of your maximum Mana per second.


Mana fuels your offensive and defensive skills.

Gruesome Feast

1 When you are healed by a health globe, gain 10% of your maximum Mana and 10% Intelligence for 15 seconds. The Intelligence bonus stacks up to 5 times.
Bad Medicine

1 When you deal Poison damage to an enemy, its damage is reduced by 25% for 5 seconds.
Blood Ritual

1 20% of Mana costs are paid with Life. In addition, you regenerate 1% of your maximum Life per second.
Zombie Handler

1 Your Life, and that of your Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan are increased by 20%.


Additionally, you may have 1 additional Zombie Dog summoned at one time.

Pierce the Veil

1 All of your damage is increased by 20%, but your Mana costs are increased by 30%.
Fetish Sycophants

1 When you hit enemies with your spells, you have up to a 15% chance to summon a dagger-wielding Fetish to fight by your side for 60 seconds.
Spirit Vessel

1 When you receive fatal damage, you automatically enter the spirit realm for 2 seconds and heal to 50% of your maximum Life.


This effect may occur once every 60 seconds.

Rush of Essence

This bonus is increased to 30% while a Gargantuan, Zombie Dog, or Fetish is not in combat.

Additionally, you may have 1 additional Zombie Dog summoned at one time.

Grave Injustice

1 Gain 1% of your maximum Life and Mana and reduce the cooldown of all of your skills by 1 second when an enemy dies within 20 yards.


The range is extended by items that increase your gold pickup radius.

Development[edit]

The Witch Doctor's skills and skill trees were first seen at BlizzCon 2008, with only a few skills enabled and many showing nothing more than vague descriptions in the skill tree. The listing was fleshed out at Blizzcon 2009, but most of his skills, especially the summoning ones, remained NYI. The current information was revealed at Blizzcon 2010, with the passive skills removed (see the Witch Doctor traits and a near-final skill listing.

A large number of the higher level WD spells have still never been shown publicly, in contrast to the skills of the Wizard and Barbarian, almost all of which have been shown off.
