Marked for Death is a Hunting Demon Hunter skill unlocked at Level 21. This skill places a curse on a selected enemy, causing them to take additional damage for the duration of the effect.

It is best used in conjunction with a full Hatred bulb and a readiness to inflict massive damage. It's a useful ability in multiplayer games as well, when everyone teams up to take out a powerful Elite monster.

Mark an enemy. The marked enemy takes 20% additional damage for the next 30 seconds.

1 When the enemy is killed, the mark spreads to the closest 3 enemies within 30 yards. This effect can chain repeatedly.
MedRuneC Valley of Death

1 Mark an area on the ground of 15 yard radius for 15 seconds. Enemies in the area take 15% additional damage.
MedRuneA Grim Reaper

1 20% of damage dealt to the marked enemy is also divided evenly among all enemies within 20 yards.
MedRuneD Mortal Enemy

1 Attacks you make against the marked enemy generate 4 Hatred.
MedRuneE Death Toll
(database)
1 Attackers heal for up to 3% of their maximum Life when damaging the marked enemy.

1 Increase the duration of your Caltrops, Marked for Death, Spike Trap, and Sentry by 100%.


Increase the maximum number and charges of Sentries to 1 and number of Spike Traps to 3.

Development[edit]

Marked for Death was first seen at the July 2011 Press Event, where it was a level 8 skill. Unfortunately, no information about the skill's function was available.

Beta[edit]

When the beta started in September 2011, Marked for Death became a level 23 skill. The skill system was once again overhauled for the Beta Patch 13, and Marked for Death was classified as an Archery skill and moved to level 15. For Beta Patch 14, it was re-classified as a Hunting skill and moved to level 21. The "Hunting" category replaced "Shadow".
