Cloud of Bats is a rune effect in Firebats, a Physical Realm Witch Doctor skill.

This rune effect surrounds the Witch Doctor with a tornado of bats, dealing increasing amounts of weapon damage as Fire to anything that gets too near the Witch Doctor.

This is the highest damage version of Fire Bats, but the increase comes at a cost - The Witch Doctor has to be very close to the target, sacrificing both the safety of range, the accuracy, and the reliability of the other Firebats variations.

Call forth a swarm of fiery bats to burn enemies in front of you for 475% weapon damage as Fire.

MedRuneE Cloud of Bats
1 Call forth a swirl of bats that damage nearby enemies for 425% weapon damage as Fire. The damage of the bats increases every second, up to a maximum of 850% weapon damage after 3 seconds.

Prior to the skill revision in February 2012, this rune effect was enabled by the Albaster Rune, granting the following effect with a level 7 runestone:
